Orlando Car Rentals and the Hunter’s Creek Golf Club
Continental Car Orlando Car rentals note that the International Golf Club has been renovated and now has a new name – Grande Pines Golf Club. Designer Steve Smyers and player consultant Nick Faldo overhauled Joe Lee’s original design.
Smyers has also designed three mainstays on the GolfWeek’s 100 Greatest Modern Courses list. Smyers was introduced to the game of golf since he was a youth. Not only is he an avid golfer, he is also well educated about the great golf courses around the world. He watched great players perform in major championships. Legendary architects of the 1920s influenced Smyers’s philosophy on golf course design. After earning a golf scholarship to the University of Florida, he attended the school and played on the golf team from 1971-1975. Smyers still competes in major amateur events around the world. In 1984, Symers formed his own golf course architect firm. He has completed projects on five continents of the world.
Continental Car Orlando Car rentals note the two designers added a fourth set of tees, 300 yards to the length and more complex green settings. Trees were removed to make the course more open and playable.
Whether you like to play it safe or want to strike out on the bold side, each type of competitor will find the course suitable for their playing experience.
If you don’t like using carts on the grounds, you’ll be pleased walking is allowed and the grounds are walker-friendly. But if you prefer using a cart, it comes equipped with a ProLink yardage system that uses technology that incorporates satellites and GPS to help you accurately figure out the yardage to the hole location. Continental Car Orlando Car rentals note this system also allows golfers to make lunch orders while still on the course. For group outings, this system can allow golfers to view real time leaderboard scoring.
